I decided to use this moving to Gateshead as an opportunity to rest for a few weeks. To be honest, over the last two and a half years, I have been constantly working 40 hours a week (first at m&ms world london), and then at the Natural History Museum in London. A big part of my exhaustion was because of this. yes, I've had my holidays here and there. But in 2015 I've only taken 2 weeks of holidays in the summer. And the rest of the whole year, I worked like crazy, 40 hours a week, every week. So you can imagine how drained I was. I have not been working since I moved to Newcastle. I basically had to start all over again and look for jobs, so I started doing this from the moment I got here, but with absolutely no pressure, as I knew I could use the time off. It feels good to have my batteries finally charged after such a long time.
About a week ago, I found out I had been given a position as an assistant manager at Pizza Express. Sure, it's not the best job in the world. And it's actually a lot of hours a week, but at this point I could really use some money, and I like to try new things. I will give it a go, and if I really don't like it, I will come up with something else. Also, I need to be careful with the time I dedicate to music, writing and photography. I moved up here to have time for the things I love. I cannot let this job take that away from me. So, for now, I'm just exploring my options. I'm going to London for two days for the welcoming session and basic knowledge of the job. The train leaves today. Then I will have two weeks training at a restaurant in Newcastle, and then another week of management training at the restaurant I will be working at. After that, I will be on my own, so wish me luck! I need to go pack for my trip to London. I'm taking the train, so it will be super quick. Driving it takes me about four hours from London to Newcastle. But there's no traffic on trains, and they are super fast, so it will only take me two and a half hours. I'm very excited because I love trains and I don't get to ride them as much as I wanted. So I will make sure I take the most out of this trip, and of course, I will be taking my camera with me! I will keep you updated as much as possible. I will probably work on a new blog post while I'm on the train taking all those pictures.
I can't wait to settle properly. I also need to re-start my workouts and eating healthy, because in the last weeks I've been eating a lot of bad food. I need to quickly get back to a routine so I can organise myself for good.
Now, a few questions for you:
1. Have you ever had to move to a different place, and how did you manage to adjust to the new routines?
2. What do you like to do on your free time?
I will catch up again soon, I promise. Now I really need to go pack! See you soon!
