Say goodbye to protein shakes and hello to clear vegan protein!

Home, My life, VEGANISM

Let's be honest for a moment: have you ever tried the standard vegan protein powders out there? I'm not talking about ridiculous expensive brands that charge you £40 for 300g of product. I'm talking about that affordable, £25-35/kg of vegan protein powders range on the market. Were you impressed, truly impressed, with any flavour, consistency and texture? Because I wasn't. I find that most of the vanilla or chocolate vegan protein powders on the market taste artificial, they don't mix well even if you use the best blender in the world. I'm not a fan of strawberry or any other berry for that matter when it comes to drinks and smoothies, so I had no other option but to be stuck with tar-tasting caramel and sickening chocolate protein powders for years!

Is it all about the price?

I genuinely thought that maybe I didn't like any vegan proteins because I was spending too little...the more I spent, the better the taste and quality of the ingredients. So I thought, sure, it would be expensive, but worth it! I was wrong. I spent the £40, I tried brands that most influencers go on Instagram saying are amazing and taste great. And what I've learned is that they don't. Influencers are simply getting paid to say that. It's all about money.

While I'm on the subject, let me just make this clear: this is not a sponsored post and I am not getting paid to write this. I simply, genuinely found a vegan protein that I love, and I will never be going back to traditional protein powders ever again.

But let me take you back to the beginning. I had searched everywhere for an alternative. And at one point I was even almost manipulated by influencers and social media into buying a product that had terrible reviews on the website, but that somehow all influencers were raving about on social media, especially Instagram! I am so glad I didn't buy into it. I would have just wasted my money.

Then, a few months ago, I started researching more about protein powders and their taste and texture, and I came across My Vegan.

In that moment, everything's changed. I realised that there's a vegan company out there who gets me! They too don't like the traditional vegan protein shake flavours, consistency and texture, and they did something about it! I read about their products and was intrigued by the concept of clear vegan protein. The world's first clear vegan protein blend: a fully dissolvable, completely refreshing alternative to classic protein shakes. A fully dissolvable, completely refreshing alternative to classic protein shakes.

Once I finished reading all about their ingredients, mission and concept, something in me thought 'wait, so it's like a delicious squash? Yum! But this sounds too good to be true. What's the catch? What about the price?' Well, lucky me, because not only were they having a 50% off offer, they weren't even that expensive to begin with! This allowed me to try 3 different flavours: strawberry, apple & elderflower and blackcurrant. Blackcurrant is my least favourite, but it doesn't mean it's any less tasty than the other two. I just prefer the other two flavours.

I couldn't believe how great these products were! Why was nobody talking about them? What a way to revolutionise the vegan protein market! I will never go back to the conventional vegan protein shakes, as I've found the tastiest solution with My Vegan. You simply mix the protein with water, give it a shake and wait for it to set. The powder dissolves incredibly well. There's no 'nasty bits' left undissolved and once it sets, the drink is literally like a squash. Almost see-through, it looks and tastes just like a refreshing squash. No thickness, no sickening flavour, no nasty bits left undissolved!

You can even make a protein drink like you would a cocktail: you can add ice, some fresh fruits like lemon wedges or lime or even blueberries and strawberries and maybe some mint or any other fresh herbs if you feel like it. It is such a delicious, tasty way to not only drink more water but increase your protein intake.

Each scoop comes with 10g of protein (about half of that of the traditional protein powders, but it simply means you get to drink more water if you only use one scoop in your water bottle). Me, personally, I either drink from a 2L or 1L bottle. If I drink from a 2L bottle, I use two scoops, if 1 L, I only add a scoop at a time. I personally find the flavours to be perfectly sweetened, but if I add 2 scoops to a 1L bottle I think it makes it way too sweet for my taste. And I'm someone with a sweet tooth anyway, so I usually do not add more than 1 serving of 10g of protein to my water bottle. I just keep refilling it and adding more protein as I do water.

Changes I've noticed since taking My Vegan Clear Protein:

Because the taste of most vegan protein shakes isn't delicious enough for me to crave them, I sometimes had to get my protein solely from plant foods, which meant sometimes I either had to eat too many greens or have too many plant based protein processed foods to make up for it. But not anymore! I can still have my normal salads, soups, and hearty meals without worrying too much about protein, because I got protein intake covered by My Vegan.

I've noticed a huge change in my energy levels throughout the day, and even when my sweet tooth kicks in, at around 3pm, it usually isn't as bad and some days I don't even have those cravings anymore.

Trust me when I say their products are revolutionary! I hope they bring out even more flavours. I still have to try the Pineapple & Grapefruit and also the Lemon & Lime flavour, but you bet I am getting to those next! As soon as I run out, I will be ordering more!

Is it worth it?
One hundred percent! Yes! Keep an eye on their website, as they usually have some sort of offer going on. If you time it right, you can get yourself a pretty decent deal! If you end up trying any of these flavours and brand, leave me a comment below and let me know what you thought. I'm confident you will love them as much as I do.
